my fabric scraps

... sure do come in handy for fun crafts with the lil' sprouts.

I found this adorable paperdoll template by Sarah of The Small Object and downloaded and printed it onto white cardstock.

I gave the lil' sprouts some paper and fabric scraps, beeswax crayons, scissors, color pencils, glue sticks and let them have at it.

I must say that their creations, with a little help from me with the cutting, are delightfully cute!

in the spirit of mouse paint

... the lil' sprouts had a *lesson in color:

red + yellow = orange
red + blue = purple
yellow + blue = green

and I learned from the lil' sprouts that

red+yellow+blue + orange+purple+green = a purple-ish, mauve-ish, brown-ish sort of hue

Only they could somehow manage to come up with such a color.

adorning our mantle

... is a family of *clothespin dolls dressed in fabric scraps.  The lil' sprouts are not quite adept at using glue yet, so they had a little help from me.  Included in the group are Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother, a baby, a little boy named "Shrink", and two superheroes with capes.

Simple. Fun. And easy to make!
